Known for its innovative take on traditional Mexican dishes, Twisted Trompo delivers a fusion of bold flavors, perfect for anyone looking to try something a little different.

The heart of Twisted Trompo's menu revolves around their signature dish: the trompo, a beloved Mexican classic. But don't expect the typical version you might find elsewhere. Twisted Trompo has reinvented this street food favorite by offering it with unique twists that keep patrons coming back for more. Whether you prefer it in tacos, burritos, or bowls, the trompo is always perfectly seasoned, tender, and served with all the fixings you could dream of.

One of the standout features of this restaurant is its commitment to quality. The meat, marinated in a blend of spices, is cooked to perfection on a vertical rotisserie, known as a trompo, giving it that distinctive flavor and texture that is hard to replicate. The rotisserie technique allows the meat to retain its juiciness while developing a crispy, charred exterior that adds a delicious contrast in every bite.

What really makes Twisted Trompo shine is how they elevate traditional ingredients. Their salsa options are a true highlight - from tangy to spicy, there’s something to satisfy every palate. You can also find other exciting additions, like avocado, cilantro-lime rice, and a variety of toppings that take the flavors to the next level. These additions not only complement the main dish but make each bite a little different, ensuring that the meal never gets boring.

The ambiance at Twisted Trompo is another reason to visit. The modern yet cozy interior makes it perfect for both a casual lunch with friends or a laid-back dinner with family. It's a place where you can enjoy delicious food in a welcoming environment, with friendly service to match. The vibrant decor and lively atmosphere make it a fun spot to hang out, whether you’re a local or just passing through.

One of the things that sets Twisted Trompo apart from other restaurants in Dallas is its attention to detail when it comes to customer experience. The staff is always attentive and knowledgeable, providing recommendations based on your tastes. It’s clear they care about making your dining experience memorable.

The location in the heart of downtown Dallas makes Twisted Trompo an easy stop for anyone exploring the city or looking for a great meal after a day of sightseeing or shopping. You can enjoy a satisfying meal without straying far from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Reviews from patrons reflect a strong sense of satisfaction. Many have praised the flavors, saying that the tacos and burritos are packed with authentic taste, and the freshness of the ingredients truly stands out. Others have mentioned the generous portions, which make it an excellent value for the price.

For those who may want to customize their meal, the menu offers plenty of options. Whether you prefer to keep it simple with just a basic taco or want to go all out with a fully-loaded burrito, the possibilities are endless. And with such a variety of options, there’s something to suit every craving. From tender al pastor to marinated beef, Twisted Trompo ensures every meat lover’s desires are met.

If you’re in the mood for something on the lighter side, there are also salads and fresh sides available that incorporate many of the same flavors that make the main dishes shine. These provide a great alternative if you're looking for something a little less indulgent but still full of vibrant taste.

Twisted Trompo was an absolute lifesaver! We stumbled across this spot in Downtown Dallas, and I’m so glad we did. The food was really good flavorful, fresh, and definitely hit the spot. If I had to describe it, I’d say it’s a solid Mexican restaurant with a twist. Whether you’re in the area and need a quick bite or just craving some good Mexican food, this place is worth checking out. Great service, tasty food, and a chill vibe can’t ask for more.

My teenage daughters and I walked here from our hotel a few blocks away. We don't eat meat but we were able to find some very good stuff on the menu. Portion size, food taste, atmosphere, and service were all great.

This place is a great spot for late-night dining and drinks. The tacos are tasty, but they could be a bit less greasy. The cashier staff could benefit from some training on customer service; they need to be more welcoming and friendly. On the bright side, the bar service is excellent. They make fantastic mojitos and margaritas.

I had the traditional street tacos. The tacos were amazing!! The only thing was the rice, I bit into some hard rice. Maybe it was an off day. My family had the beef quesadillas and Cuban torta, with no complaints. Try the PASTOR. The meat was very tender and flavorful.

Twisted Trompo was an absolutely great spot! I stumbled across this vibrant restaurant in Downtown Dallas, and I’m so glad we did. The food was incredibly flavorful, fresh, and definitely hit the spot. I tried the carne asada burrito, which was generously stuffed with tender, juicy meat and flavorful spices, and the El Pastor street tacos, which featured succulent, marinated pork topped with fresh cilantro and onions. If I had to describe it, I’d say it’s a solid Mexican restaurant with a creative twist, offering authentic flavors with a modern touch.

The twisted fries were the best thing I purchased from here. Elotes was okay, needed some seasoning, maybe add some more cheese. Quesabirria tacos were small so I got 5. The rice needed seasoning too. Beans were ok. Churros has caramel in the middle. They were delicious. Island rum punch was okay, it was sweet and didn't have much alcohol. It was still good though. We spent $80 but we ordered a lot so we could try different things on the menu.
